Overall, going through the process of this project has not been as difficult as I expected. After experiencing technicical difficulties I still managed to complete the process on time.
Reflection paragraph on findings
I have found many legitimate details about the Contemporary Period and its literature. I am very pleased with the information I have recieved from this project. After researching about the Contemporary Period I have gained knowledge about this era that I didn't know previously.
Finding paragraph #3
The Contemporary Period has contributed to literature everywhere around the world. One of the main places it has contributed to is right here in the United States of America. During this era America faced many tough times in the economy and in war, including Worl War II. This led writers to express their feelings in a whole new way. After World War II, the United States was unquestionably the most powerful nation ever known (The Contemporary Period). America flourished and so did it's literature. Technology was advancing. The Allies' military forces produced the atomic bomb, a weapon of unsurpassed terror (The Contemporary Period). The literature chosen to represent the last half of the 20th century attempts to show the differences in outlook and attitude as well as the rich spectrum of cultural "major-movie" titles (The Contemporary Period). As technology continues to advance, the internet is effecting our literature today.
Finding paragraph #2
The Contemporary Period has contributed a lot the literature we know today. Over the years, literature has evolved along with the people during this era. "The study of contemporary culture reverses this equation as a part of the same pedagogical approach by regarding the present as part of history" (Contemporary Period). Examples of authors and poets during this time frame would be Robert Hayden, Alice Walker, and Tato Laviera. Robert Hayden always wrote for a general literate audience, not exclusively or even primarily for a black audience. The issue of audience for him relates to the issue of the role of a poet (Contemperary Period). The narrative voice in Alice Walker's stories is deceptively informal and uneducated. The reader must put aside assumptions about her speech and learn from her on her own terms (Contemporary Period). Tato Laviera was a African American writer during the era of Contemporary Literature and focused mainly of African American Literature.
Finding paragraph #1
The Contemporary Period is the era in which we are living today. But many people question what exactly is the Contemporary Time Period and how long of a time span have we been living in it? The period started around the 19th Century to the present day (Contemporary History). During this era, many world changing events have happened that has shaped the world to what it is today and it is still evolving. More than most periods of like duration, it is the direct consummation of the years immediately preceding. It differs from them as the harvest differs from the seed-time (Contemporary History). The harvest of the world we have planted is still growing.
